Examples of movies for CI 432/532
Here are some examples of movies I created or other students created using iMovie or Movie Maker. You can upload to YouTube, TeacherTube, Facebook, or embed right in your blog as I have done here. This allows you to more easily share you work without worrying about whether they use quicktime or windows media player. Uploading also ensures that the movie will be small enough for streaming and resolution issues.

I have officially written my first (big) grant...
I authored my first federal grant a couple of weeks ago! It was a time-consuming process but gave me invaluable experience for future grant writing. District staff is listed as contact agents but I wrote the grant in its entirety.
Title of the grant: "Improving Literacy through School Libraries program, subpart 4 of Part B of Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)."
Title of our project: "Building a district-wide collaborative 21st-century literacy network with Follett Destiny Library and Textbook Manager System."
Here is the link to the entire grant application in .pdf form.

Parkrose High School Podcasting
The Parkrose High School Bookcasting Club is starting to catch on. The kids are loving it, and I am appreciating the wave of enthusiasm for reading and using technology skills. We are planning to use vodcasts produced here as previews for the Tapestry of Tales Storytelling Event from Multnomah County Library this November.
We are now linked on the Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki under Podcasting.
Check us out under school libraries that are doing podcasting.
Cool!

2007 Fall Conference OASL Presentation
Oregon Association for School Librarians Fall Conference
Oct. 15th, 2007. Seaside, OR.
Create Your Own Podcast Workshop
Here are the links you'll need for the OASL workshop.
The Quicktime Movie. Use this to follow along in the workshop. Contains hyperlinks and audio clips.
The .pdf file. Use this to view when you get back to school. You can print (It's 22 pages!) but I would mostly use it because it contains the notes on each slide. The Quicktime movie doesn't have the extra notes.
The MS Powerpoint edition. Best to use if you have it on your computer.
